Description

At Leidos Australia, you'll lead the technical delivery of complex software solutions into secure, standalone environments. You'll provide technical direction to multidisciplinary teams of software and platform engineers, connect architecture with implementation, and resolve issues spanning applications, container platforms, infrastructure services, and integration workstreams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical planning, solution design, and implementation across software uplift, platform migration, integration, and deployment activities.
  • Own the technical approach, ensuring application, platform, security, and integration activities remain aligned across delivery workstreams.
  • Coordinate technical readiness across build, test, and production environments, including deployment dependencies, release inputs, and transition into operational support.
  • Guide the adaptation of existing applications for secure environments while maintaining common source code baselines and separating environment-specific configuration from core application logic.
  • Manage technical dependencies across applications, platforms, and infrastructure services, including interfaces, identity services, object storage, artifact repositories, and enterprise Git services.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to software and platform engineers delivering containerised solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, GitOps, and CI/CD practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams, including software and platform engineers, in complex delivery or integration environments.
  • Ability to translate operational, security, and business needs into implementable technical solutions and clearly defined engineering work.
  • Knowledge of software architecture, APIs and interfaces, authentication and single sign-on, containerised deployment, integration, verification, and engineering lifecycle practices.
  • Experience leading application and platform migration activities, including technical reviews, trade-off decisions, and resolution of cross-domain issues.
  • Capability in technical risk assessment, documentation, decision management, and communicating impacts to project leadership.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, architects, engineers, security specialists, and project leaders.

Benefits:

  • Flex Your Way – Tailor work to your life with options including Life Days (up to 12 extra days off per year), part-time arrangements, job sharing, and compressed hours.
  • Wellbeing That Matters – Free access to Headspace and MeQuilibrium, plus dedicated wellness spaces to support your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Learn Without Limits – Access over 120,000 on-demand courses, alongside technical, project management, leadership, and professional development opportunities.
