Description
WSP is seeking a part-time Bridge Inspection Technical Excellence Center (TEC) Lead for our Western Pennsylvania Bridge Inspection Group, based in Pittsburgh, PA.
You will work closely with our bridge inspection District Leader for Mid-Atlantic North, focusing on business development and winning bridge inspection and repair work for PennDOT, PTC, County and City authorities, and other transportation agencies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing proactive and strategic leadership for the structural engineering discipline
- Performing engineering reviews of permit applications, designs, and contracts
- Leading larger-scale structural engineering projects
- Supporting business development and pipeline growth
- Mentoring staff and managing project budgets
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and engineering standards
- Developing a client base and identifying business opportunities
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-level advice to clients
Requirements include:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Professional Engineering Licensure
- 10+ years of experience in bridge inspection with PennDOT and other transportation clients
- Project Manager/Team Leader experience in PA and other states
- Attendance of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course and additional NHI courses
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and lead teams
- Valid driver's license and ability to perform field work
Preferred qualifications include:
- Master's degree in Engineering
- Additional FHWA/NHI Training
- Experience with railroad and complex bridges, tunnels, and ancillary structures
- Familiarity with NDT techniques and UAS applications
