Description
We are seeking a Building Control Inspector to join our team in London Boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth. As a Building Control Inspector, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, robust and legally compliant Building Control Authority that helps protect the health, safety and welfare of people in and around buildings.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing building regulation applications, carrying out site inspections and providing clear, proportionate professional advice, ensuring that development complies with the Building Act 1984, Building Regulations and associated legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied caseload of projects, working across both boroughs as required
- Contributing to a responsive and customer-focused service
- Working collaboratively with applicants, agents, contractors and internal stakeholders
- Identifying and addressing non-compliant work, supporting enforcement activity where necessary
- Maintaining accurate records to support audit, legal processes and transparency
The role requires a Class 2 Registered Building Inspector. You will operate within your level of competence in accordance with the Building Safety Regulator requirements and Code of Conduct, maintaining your professional development and contributing to a service that is recognised for quality, integrity and continuous improvement.
In return, we offer a competitive salary of £35,391 - £47,925 per year, plus a 20% Market Supplement and car mileage allowance. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including 40 days annual leave, flexible working, and a generous pension plan.
