Aviva Canada Inc. has an excellent opportunity for an auto Underwriter. Our Mid-Market branch is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Commercial Lines Fleet Auto Underwriter. In this position, you will service a substantial portfolio of commercial auto business requiring a demonstrated underwriting ability and a commitment to customer service excellence. You will be involved in the underwriting of Fleet accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate risk for new and existing fleet business
- Assist more junior underwriters with applying corporate underwriting standards and share knowledge and skills with others in the branch
- Analyze reports to determine adequate exposure and loss rating
- Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments
- Negotiate renewal terms for the retention of business
- Utilize loss control and risk management practices in the underwriting process
- Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding modification to policy files in a prompt and efficient manner
- Work with brokers to develop new business
- Develop and maintain excellent broker relationships and management of assigned broker portfolio
- Provide above average customer service
Requirements:
- 5 years or more fleet underwriting experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated technical capability to independently manage a portfolio
- Ability to provide guidance to junior underwriters
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure
- Knowledge of RTM is an asset
What you'll get:
- The salary band for this position ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 for the intermediate position and $70,000 to $85,000 for the senior position
