Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary: As a Maintenance Assistant, you will conduct facility maintenance duties and customer interface. You will assist with equipment service and general housekeeping tasks to ensure buildings and property are in a clean and orderly condition.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine custodial duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, using a powered scrubber, and maintaining building cleanliness.
• Maintain building free from indoor pests.
• Empty trash receptacles, dispose of trash into compactors and/or dumpsters.
• Clean entrances and outside areas.
• Dust and disinfect all surfaces.
• Wash windows.
• Identify and perform minor repairs.
• Paint as needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning agents and equipment.
• Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff.
• Accompany third-party vendors as needed while on site.
• Perform other duties as requested by the department lead/supervisor and/or manager.

Requirements:

• Ability to walk, stand, pull, climb, bend, reach, and stoop for an extended period.
• Must be able to lift frequently (20-45 lbs.) and occasionally heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.).
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule or overtime as required.
• Proven ability to be a collaborator who is comfortable working in a team-based environment.
• Ability to work with different levels of colleagues with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to act competently in emergencies.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
