Description
The Digital Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Sr. Network Technician on our layer 2 team to support computer data communications systems. The role involves providing design specifications, testing, and inspections for computer networks, planning and implementing upgrades, and analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.
Responsibilities:
- Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices as a Tier 2 network field technician.
- Respond to and resolve incident tickets.
- Draft and implement standard network change requests.
- Provide support to Tier 3 network engineers for incident management and projects, including site surveys, TEMS, coordinating and installing new equipment.
- Perform configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings, ensuring asset management records are accurate, and conducting inventory.
- Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades, with knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process.
- Utilize layer 1 and layer 2 network experience with CAT5, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP.
- Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching, including VLANs, Port Security, Thin Configs.
- Work with Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, Brocade, and Foundry OS.
- Have familiarity with layer 3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE.
- Be familiar with Visio, ServiceNow, and Confluence.
- May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Required clearance: TS/SCI with Poly.
- 16 years of related/relevant work experience, which can be a combination of work history and education.
- Compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level.
- Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
- Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Office presence a minimum of 5 days per week.
Pay Range: $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
