As a Director, Project Manager at Capital One, you will create strategies and lead a team through high-priority projects for the company.
You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line.
This role is part of the Card division's central planning and delivery team, which oversees large and complex strategic initiatives such as major integrations and customer experience investments.
The ideal candidate will be adept at responding to a changing environment, continually looking at existing practices, routines, governance, and identity where they need to be refreshed or abandoned to reach strategic objectives.
Responsibilities of a Director, Project Manager:
- Leading moderate to large-sized teams to drive complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction.
- Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements.
- Ensuring projects are being delivered on time and on budget within a challenging environment while simultaneously managing risk.
- Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.
- Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments.
The person will:
- Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project/program efforts.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.
- Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style.
- Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Military experience.
- At least 6 Years of Project Management experience.
- At least 3 Years of People Management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or MBA degree.
- 7+ years of Project Management experience.
- 4+ years of People Management experience.
- PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
- Strong problem-solving and influencing skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are: McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Project Management Richmond, VA: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Project Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
