Description
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in building, maintaining, and improving critical data and platform solutions that support business operations and customer outcomes.
Working within a cross-functional squad, you will collaborate with developers, analysts, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing solutions while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain software solutions assigned to the team
- Troubleshoot issues reported by customers
- Participate in knowledge sharing sessions with the wider group
- Contribute to planning efforts with analysis and estimation of proposed product work
- Provide support to other teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
- Expertise in Python programming language with strong knowledge of platform areas like Databricks, Airflow, PostgreSQL, databases, Snowflake, Kafka, CI/CD, and GitHub repositories
- Good understanding of AWS and infrastructure
- Keep track of the health and ongoing work around main platforms and services
- Coordinate with analysts, infrastructure, and support teams when issues arise
- Monitor important platform changes and platform-related risks
- Check support and operational channels for anything requiring attention
- Review or participate in discussions around architecture, implementation approaches, and technical trade-offs
- Stakeholder coordination with Product, Data Science, SRE, Platform, and other dependent teams
- Coordinate upcoming work with other teams where there are dependencies
- Documentation and knowledge sharing - ensure important technical decisions and operational procedures are documented
