Solutions Architect – Digital Sovereignty

At Databricks, you will work as a Solutions Architect for Digital Sovereignty, leading the technical aspects of this initiative in Germany.

You design sovereign data and AI architectures with customers, run proofs of concept end-to-end, and collaborate with sovereign cloud partners and account teams to implement production workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical advisor on digital sovereignty for strategic and regulated customers across Germany.
• Design and validate sovereign reference architectures.
• Conduct complex proofs of concept and pilots, testing performance, scalability, security, and network connectivity.
• Collaborate with sovereign cloud and storage partners on joint solution design, enablement, co-selling, and customer workshops.
• Provide feedback to Databricks' Product and Engineering teams and collaborate with Legal, Security, and Compliance on customer inquiries.
• Develop repeatable assets such as reference architectures, demos, and Terraform templates.
• Enhance Databricks' visibility on sovereignty in the German market through workshops, meetups, webinars, and conference talks.
• Rapidly turn customer conversations into working prototypes using AI-assisted development.

Requirements

• Fluent German and business-level English.
• Experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, or consulting, particularly with complex enterprise customers.
• Hands-on experience with data platforms in major public clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP), preferably with Apache Spark and/or Databricks.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, including networking, identity and access management, encryption, and key management.
• Experience with object storage, open table formats, and secure data sharing patterns.
• Ability to drive technical and business conversations with C-level executives and influence outcomes.
• Hands-on coding skills in Python and SQL; experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform is beneficial.
• Daily use of AI tools in your work, including coding assistants.
• Experience working with European/sovereign cloud providers, public sector, or regulated industries is advantageous.
