Description
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist. In this role, you will lead the engineering and evolution of Primary Trading platforms and services, including TOMS, Calypso and Sentry integrations, from architecture through delivery and production quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering and evolution of Primary Trading platforms and services
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, stay close to the code and make sound architecture and engineering decisions
- Design scalable, resilient and high-performance solutions supporting the end-to-end trade lifecycle
- Partner with Trading, Sales, Operations, Product Control, Quantitative and global Technology teams to translate workflow requirements into robust solutions
- Own the platform end to end, including SDLC, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, performance, resilience, security and production support
- Diagnose complex production and trade-processing issues across applications, infrastructure, data and business logic
- Drive clean code, automated testing, code reviews, technical-debt reduction and simplification of the technology estate
- Mentor engineers, strengthen the engineering culture in India and collaborate globally to deliver business outcomes
- Identify responsible AI/ML and GenAI opportunities to improve workflow accuracy, production stability and developer productivity
Requirements:
- Significant experience building enterprise-scale trading or financial technology platforms
- Strong hands-on Java programming skills and a solid command of modern software engineering practices
- Experience with Primary Trading or booking platforms such as Bloomberg TOMS, Calypso, Sentry or comparable Front Office systems
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, messaging, databases and high-performance application design
- Proven experience with CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, production engineering and secure, resilient systems
- Understanding of Fixed Income and Credit markets
- Ability to understand complex legacy technology quickly and lead its pragmatic modernisation
- Confident communication with engineers and Front Office and Operations stakeholders
