Description
GDIT is seeking an RCDD Engineer to join our Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next-Gen (JSP ETM - NG) program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require the employee to report full-time onsite.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber and all associated elements in the Pentagon, Mark Center, & buildings within the NCR supported by JSP.
Key responsibilities include:
- Following JSP and commercial best practice procedures, standards and/or providing Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.
- Providing O&M support to include an ISP Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD) to support the maintenance and clean-up of 1800 or more Telecommunication rooms at the Pentagon, Mark Center and NCR, and outlying buildings under JSP Operations purview.
- Performing 24/7/365 breakfix on all Inside Plant cable infrastructure under JSP purview.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance OR the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
- High School Diploma.
- 5+ years developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling.
- Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and basic design perspective.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Vizio for producing cutsheets and floorplans.
- Solid Customer Support Skills in a high visibility environment.
- Problem analysis and problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

The likely salary range for this position is $140,821 - $190,523.
