Description
Spreetail is seeking an EHS Manager in our Lincoln, Nebraska fulfillment center to own the strategy and execution of safety programs, building a proactive safety culture where compliance is lived every day.
This is an onsite role, five days per week, and a true individual contributor position for someone ready to roll up their sleeves. You won’t manage from a desk. You’ll be a constant presence on the floor, conducting walk-throughs, leading incident investigations, and delivering training.
Responsibilities:
- Own the injury metrics, taking ownership of ORIR and LTI rates, keeping them at or below industry benchmarks for warehouse and e-fulfillment operations.
- Run every recordable to ground, documenting each OSHA recordable accurately, investigating it thoroughly, and closing corrective actions on time.
- Keep safety training at 95%+, partnering with P&C to hold new hire and PIT training completion at or above 95% across all associates and departments.
- Audit monthly and show improvement, conducting and scoring monthly safety audits, tracking open items to closure, and delivering quarter-over-quarter improvement in audit results.
- Stay emergency-ready on every shift, keeping emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and first aid resources current and posted.
- Manage workers’ comp proactively, reporting claims on time, using modified duty programs, and bringing claim costs down.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of safety or EHS experience in roles of progressive responsibility, ideally in an OSHA 1910 General Industry environment.
- Regulatory depth, with formal or extensive regulatory experience, including ownership of OSHA 300 logs, complaint response, and onsite regulatory support.
- Multi-shift support, with experience supporting multi-shift operations, including night and weekend shifts.
- Hands-on technical skills, with direct experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
- Independent program ownership, with proven ability to own and execute integrated safety programs without Safety Supervisor support.
- Floor-level presence, with comfort spending a significant portion of every shift on the warehouse floor, not behind a desk.
Benefits:
- Flexible time-off policies, including a generous vacation policy, paid time-off for your wedding week, paid parental leave, and support for parents of growing families.
- Celebrations of accomplishments, including special gifts, swag store credit, or donations to a nonprofit of your choice.
- Health & Wellness benefits, including affordable medical, dental, and vision plans with coast-to-coast coverage, free telehealth, and on-demand mental health resources.
- Opportunities to give back and make a social impact, with paid time off to do it.
