The Digital Modernization Sector of Leidos has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to support efforts for the Naval Enterprise Network (NEN) OCONUS portion of the NGEN-R Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract located in Naples, Italy.
The NGEN-R SMIT contract is the largest IT services program for the Navy, delivering the Naval Enterprise Network (NEN); inclusive of cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Leidos supports the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts on one enterprise network.
As a Systems Engineer, you will provide Tier III support, on-site SME support, and engineering efforts on the NEN-OCONUS server and network infrastructure in Naples, Italy. This includes integrating NEN-OCONUS enterprise engineering efforts involving Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Europe. You will respond to alerts and events, incidents from triage through resolution, including escalations. You will conduct infrastructure repairs, direct remote activities to maintain operational effectiveness for services, and provide root cause analysis documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier Level III support for the Theatre Network Operations Service Center (TNOSC) on NEN-OCONUS.
- Coordinate all maintenance and restoration activities with the TNOSC and Local Network Service Center (LNSC) engineers and leadership on a daily basis.
- Provide technical support for NIPR/SIPR services.
- Perform Operating System (OS) upgrades on all related systems on the base.
- Work closely with NIWC on all new additions to the network.
- Configure and test all new additions.
- Collaborate with visiting teams performing work related to the expansion and upgrades to NEN-OCONUS related systems and infrastructure.
- Maintain the base infrastructure (routers, switches, UPS, crypto devices, etc).
- Perform maintenance tasks on the NEN-OCONUS (replace power supplies, hard disks, fans, tape drives, etc).
- Assist with NEN-OCONUS system refresh and deployments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of 4 years of previous relevant experience; or Master’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of previous relevant experience.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+, MCSA Server, etc.).
- Possess a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification.
Nice to Have:
- Top Secret Clearance.
- ITIL Foundation v3 or v4.
- Microsoft Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate.
Pay Range: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
