Description
We are seeking an Emergency Communications Specialist with advanced technical expertise in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, mass communications operations, and enterprise emergency management programs.
In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for agency-wide emergency LMR communications capabilities, ensuring the reliability, interoperability, and compliance of systems that support daily operations and crisis response across multiple geographically dispersed locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight of the encrypted P25-compliant trunked LMR network, BDAs, and portable/mobile radio cache.
- Serve as the senior technical advisor to non-HQ sites, offering expert analysis, troubleshooting, and strategic guidance.
- Support the development, validation, and sustainment of interoperability agreements and systems across local, state, and federal partners.
- Provide leadership for the enterprise automated notification system and associated mass communication functions.
- Serve as a key contributor to enterprise emergency management, continuity, and preparedness planning.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience with encrypted trunked and/or conventional LMR systems.
- Advanced knowledge of RF theory, LMR network design, antenna systems, key management facilities, LMR security, and communications infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of NIMS, ICS, federal continuity requirements, and enterprise emergency management program development.
