Working as a General Merchandise Expert at Target means helping families discover the joy of everyday life. You will be part of a team that prioritizes guest experience while ensuring product is available and easy to shop.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience
- Greeting guests, helping them find what they need, and resolving issues
- Supporting team efforts and assisting peers in other areas
- Executing daily tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and maintaining the sales floor
- Operating power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified
- Learning and executing operational procedures such as setting and organizing merchandise, managing product accuracy and stock levels

Requirements:
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
- Work both independently and with a team
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Physical Demands:
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders
- Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks
- Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties
