Description
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Presales Systems Engineer to support its State, Local Government, and K-12 customers throughout Maryland territory.
This is a highly customer-facing, pre-sales role where you'll partner with Territory Managers to design innovative networking solutions, build trusted customer relationships, and help drive successful business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines deep networking expertise with strong consultative and solution-selling skills.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Territory Managers to identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities.
- Design end-to-end networking solutions that address customer business and technical requirements.
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
- Develop technical proposals, solution architectures, and implementation recommendations.
- Position HPE Networking solutions against competitive offerings by clearly articulating technical advantages and business value.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Support channel partners and demand-generation activities within the territory.
- Maintain a strong understanding of emerging networking technologies and competitive market trends.
- Manage a healthy sales pipeline while supporting complex enterprise opportunities from discovery through deployment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or pre-sales experience supporting enterprise networking environments.
- Strong customer-facing communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical, business-focused solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, partners, sales teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience with campus and branch networking, routing & switching, enterprise wireless, network security, network access control (NAC), and cloud-managed networking platforms.
- Industry certifications such as HPE Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting State, Local Government, or Education (SLED) customers.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking trends and competitive technologies.

Salary Range: Annual Salary USD 151,500 - 355,000 in District of Columbia & Maryland
