Head of Banking, Channel Islands and Isle of Man

Ready to shape Corporate and Institutional Banking across the Channel Islands and Isle of Man?

As Head of Banking, you'll set the strategic direction and performance of Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) across CIIOM, including banking, institutional client groups, global network banking, business banking, and innovation banking.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the CIIOM CIB strategy, aligned to regional and Group objectives.
• Lead the sustainable and profitable growth of the CIB business, including client acquisition and retention, revenue generation, and cost management.
• Directly support and maintain senior relationships with key CIB clients.
• Build strong networks across Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man with clients, governments, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure a superior client experience by delivering coordinated solutions.
• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for Banking activities.
• Create a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive Banking team.
• Act as risk owner for financial crime, conduct, compliance, and other non-financial risks.

Regulatory Responsibilities:

• CIB accountable person for HSBC Bank plc, Jersey branch.
• CIB Manager for HSBC Bank plc, Guernsey branch.

Requirements:

• Significant experience managing a client-facing team in corporate, institutional, or comparable banking.
• Experience setting and executing strategy in a complex international or multi-jurisdictional business.
• Track record of building sustainable client relationships and growing revenue.
• Strong knowledge of corporate and institutional clients' relationship management and relevant CIB products and services.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with senior clients, regulators, government representatives, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience developing diverse teams, including succession planning and performance management.
• Sound judgement with strong governance and control awareness.

This role puts you at the centre of HSBC's CIB franchise across Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man, with the remit to set strategy, strengthen client outcomes, and deliver sustainable growth.
