Description
We are seeking a Cloud Developer to join our team at Ubisoft Montreal. As a Cloud Developer, you will participate in the design and evolution of a Kubernetes-managed platform to enhance the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure.
You will work closely with various teams to deliver native cloud solutions supporting our online games and services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining, upgrading, and managing the lifecycle of components of our large-scale internal Kubernetes platform
- Designing, developing, testing, and deploying operators and tools based on Go for Kubernetes
- Collaborating with DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure reliable and secure platform operations
- Building and maintaining features that improve the scalability, performance, and resilience of Kubernetes-managed services
- Applying best security practices and contributing to compliance across the platform
- Working with product managers and stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions
- Contributing to planning, estimation, and prioritisation with project managers and team leads
- Participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, and supporting a collaborative team culture
- Analysing and resolving production incidents while proposing continuous improvements to systems
- Staying up-to-date with native cloud technologies and best practices in the Kubernetes ecosystem and participating in on-call rotations
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain Kubernetes platforms using practical GitOps practices with tools like Argo CD
- Hands-on experience creating operators and tools in Go with clean and maintainable code
- Mastery of automation and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or equivalent
- Ability to set up and maintain continuous integration and deployment chains (CI/CD) using tools like Gitlab
- Concrete experience with containerisation and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience implementing observability and monitoring solutions with Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, and ELK
- Ability to write effective unit tests for Go applications and apply good testing practices
- Knowledge of deploying and operating workloads on cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
- Aptitude for collaborating effectively in Agile development environments
