Description
We are seeking a Host / Hostess to join the team at Fairfield Independent Hospital in St Helens, part of Circle Health Group. This bank role involves working on an 'as and when required' basis to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing a welcoming, responsive service for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring all food and beverage requirements are met promptly and professionally
- Preparing and delivering meals, drinks, and snacks in line with dietary requirements and service expectations
- Ensuring service areas are always well-presented, clean, and stocked in accordance with hospital and food hygiene policies
- Attending service briefings and following clear instructions from the Hospital Services Lead or Deputy Hospitality Lead
- Taking accurate food and beverage orders and ensuring they are delivered to the agreed standard and within agreed timeframes
- Communicating effectively with kitchen teams, clinical staff, and patients, adapting language and tone appropriately
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Previous catering or hospitality experience, preferably in hotels, restaurants, or room service environments
- A Basic Food Hygiene qualification
- A good understanding of food safety regulations and safe working practices
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced service environment
- Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach
