Description

At M&S, we're on a mission to reshape Homeware & Furniture, creating inspiring products, elevating quality, and delivering exceptional value for our customers.

As a commercially-minded Finance Manager, you'll partner with our Homeware & Furniture leadership teams and help drive the next phase of growth.

What you'll do

As a trusted finance business partner, you'll work closely with our Buying, Merchandising and Trading teams to support profitable growth across Homeware & Furniture.

You'll:

  • Own financial performance across the Homeware & Furniture business area, providing insight and challenge to deliver sales, profit, stock and cash targets.
  • Partner with commercial teams to evaluate pricing, promotions, product strategy and category performance, helping drive customer demand and profitability.
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning processes, ensuring strategic initiatives are reflected in our financial plans.
  • Analyse trends in sales, margin, stock and customer behaviour to identify opportunities, risks and actions that improve performance.
  • Support stock and working capital management, helping optimise inventory levels across seasonal and core home ranges.
  • Deliver scenario modelling and business cases for new initiatives, category investments and growth opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships across Commercial, Digital, Marketing, Customer Insight and Finance teams to improve decision-making and business performance.

Who you are

We're looking for a commercially curious and analytically strong finance professional who enjoys working at pace and influencing decisions that directly impact customers and business performance.

You'll ideally be:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong post-qualified experience, ideally within retail, consumer goods or another fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Proven commercial finance and business partnering experience, with the ability to influence strategic decisions and challenge senior stakeholders.
  • Passion for Homeware & Furniture, with a strong understanding of customer trends, trading performance and market dynamics.
  • Highly analytical with advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, capable of turning complex data into actionable commercial insight.
  • Collaborative, proactive and relationship-focused, with the confidence to build strong partnerships across Buying, Merchandising, Trading and Finance teams.

What's in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you've completed your probation.
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more.
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours.
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future.
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one.
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal.
