Working as a General Merchandise Expert at Target means being part of a team that prioritises guest experience and ensures that products are available and easy to shop. You will be responsible for creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience, supporting team efforts, and executing daily tasks to help achieve business goals.
As a General Merchandise Expert, your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting guests and providing a warm, helpful interaction
- Helping guests find what they need and resolving issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience
- Maintaining a positive and respectful attitude while working with team members and guests
- Executing daily tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and organising the backroom
- Operating power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified
- Learning and executing operational procedures to manage product accuracy and stock levels
- Following all Target policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe workplace
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and team members
- The ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow multi-step processes
- The capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
