Description
We are seeking a Principal/Associate Town Planner to join our Planning Consultancy team in Leeds. As a Senior or Principal Planner, you will have a good knowledge and experience of the planning process, including planning applications, permitted development, policy frameworks, and plan promotion.
Responsibilities:
- Devising planning strategies, assessing site's planning history, and relevant planning policies
- Preparing briefing notes on the likelihood of achieving planning permission
- Drafting planning statements to support development proposals
- Leading planning aspects in multidisciplinary teams
- Attending site visits, design team, and client meetings
- Managing project delivery and budgetary control
- Collaborating with colleagues from across WSP
- Monitoring planning applications and liaising with clients and teams
Requirements:
- Degree level qualification in town planning
- Chartered status (MRTPI / NIPA)
- Sound knowledge and experience of the UK planning system
- Strong technical skills
- Commercial approach to planning consultancy and development
- Strong organisational and communication skills
