Description
As a Senior Sales Engineer – Enterprise Networking / WLAN (Wi-Fi) at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, you will be the technical expert supporting the HPE Networking Sales team for sales and solution-related activities.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting online Mist product presentations, solution demonstrations, and answering technical questions
- Analyzing customer and partner requirements, then developing Mist technical solutions aligning to business needs
- Becoming the Mist subject matter expert and leveraging that knowledge to position Mist with all audiences from the IT Network Engineer to CIO
- Working with HPE Partners to drive enablement, growth, and scale
- Positioning Mist Wi-Fi, Wired Assurance, WAN Assurance, and Location-Based Services solutions vs competitive solutions creating winning designs
- Driving proof of concept pilots for customer opportunities
- Helping create design/deployment guides for public and internal consumption
- Being an active member in the Mist community
- Collaborating with HPE Networking Sales, Product Marketing, and Engineering teams to work on customer projects and provide feedback on industry trends and requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to bring:
- A proven track record of 6+ years in a Sales Engineering capacity, or related roles with a WLAN manufacturer, Networking vendor, or Partner experience
- Wireless networking expertise, industry & standards knowledge, site survey skills, experience with high-density Wi-Fi designs and deployment for campus and distributed sites
- Solid knowledge of network communications technology, Layer 1 through 7, VLANs, TCP/IP, Ethernet, FWs, ACLs, Routing, etc. to assist customers in designing and implementing Mist products in their environments
- Familiarity with AAA/RADIUS solutions, the various EAP methods, Certificates, and Client device operating systems
- WLAN design experience and leveraging tools such as Hamina, Ekahau, Netally, or iBwave
- Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, set priorities, and manage simultaneous projects in a high-pace environment
- Ability to work independently and with a team with a passion to drive continuous success
- Willingness to travel
