General Merchandise Team Leader

We are seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader to join our team at Target. As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members and ensuring that our guests have an exceptional shopping experience.

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $23.00 - $25.00, and the full pay range for this position per hour is $23.00 - $39.10. Pay is based on several factors, including labour markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

• Leading a team of hourly team members and providing guidance and support to ensure that our guests receive exceptional service
• Ensuring that our guests have an exceptional shopping experience by consistently delivering on our guest experience commitments
• Reviewing area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
• Leading the execution of daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement
• Educating team members on operational procedures and how they affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability
• Assigning daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns
• Holding team members accountable to expectations and providing feedback and coaching
• Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct and following all Target policies and safety procedures

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys interacting and helping others, including guests and fellow team members
• Thrives in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role
• Is open to working a variable work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts
• Has a high school diploma or equivalent
• Is 18 years of age or older
• Has previous retail experience, although it is not required
• Can lead and hold others accountable
• Can communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Can manage workload and prioritise tasks independently
• Has a welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and other team members
