Description
As a Staff Software Engineer at Alluxio, you will lead and evolve the state-of-the-art Alluxio project, solving challenging problems in Distributed Data Services, memory and data structure efficiency, thread concurrency, locking optimizations, caching policies, and implementation.
The role involves developing innovative solutions for scaling systems to thousands of nodes, providing data durability and high availability. You will contribute to the product architecture and implement the technical direction, working with the product management.
We are looking for an experienced software engineer with at least 1-2 years of experience in a technical leader role, a BS degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field of study, and software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, or Go.
Experience working with two or more of the following is a must: distributed and parallel systems, distributed storage systems, architecting large-scale software systems, and/or security software development. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English, are also required.
We would appreciate if you have a Master's, PhD degree, or equivalent practical experience in engineering, computer science, or other technical related fields. Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed, experience contributing to and/or maintaining an open-source project, and ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative programming environment are also desirable.
