Description
We are seeking a Payroll and Benefits Manager to join our team in Kenya, with responsibilities extending to other payroll areas.
Job Summary: As a Payroll and Benefits Manager at Cigna Healthcare, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality payroll services, managing day-to-day payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a high-quality payroll service, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Manage day-to-day payroll and benefits administration with limited supervision
- Stay up-to-date with payroll legislation and compliance, interpreting new legislation and explaining it to junior team members
- Communicate with third-party payroll and benefit providers to ensure accurate and timely payments, reports, and returns
- Ensure payroll and benefits are administered and authorized in line with process control policies
- Develop and maintain relationships with Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery
- Serve as the initial point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits queries
- Proactively make recommendations for improvement and set up new processes
- Maintain employee data on HR and leave/absence management systems
- Support the management of invoices and ensure accurate payments
- Administer employee benefits, including payroll deductions and reporting to third-party providers
- Calculate statutory payroll payments and perform manual calculations as required
- Assist with training new and existing employees
- Manage a team of junior payroll support employees remotely
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of experience in a payroll-focused environment
- Strong interest in and deep knowledge of Kenya payroll and benefits
- Motivated by working in an international setting and contributing to payroll operations beyond Kenya
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and quality
- Solid skills in Excel; knowledge of Word and PowerPoint is an advantage
- Experience with Workday is considered a plus
