General Merchandise Team Leader

We are seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader to join our team at Target. As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members and ensuring that our guests have an exceptional shopping experience.

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $25.00 - $27.00, and the full pay range is $25.00 - $42.50 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including labour markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

• Leading a team of hourly team members and providing guidance and feedback to ensure that they are meeting their performance goals
• Ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and have a positive shopping experience
• Managing inventory, pricing, and promotions to drive sales and profitability
• Maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
• Leading and demonstrating a safety culture through modelling and recognising safe behaviours
• Supporting merchandise protection strategies across the total store
• Occasionally assuming store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities
• Addressing all store emergency and compliance needs

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• To be at least 18 years old
• Previous retail experience is preferred, but not required
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• The ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks independently
• A welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and team members
