Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at Tanium, you will lead and manage a team of software engineers, working on the Endpoint Team to drive development of foundational components for Tanium's unified endpoint management and security platform.

Responsibilities:

• Build exceptional teams of highly qualified engineers by hiring, coaching, and instilling a sense of ownership and impact
• Work closely with product managers, security engineers, and other teams to define the vision and roadmap, focusing on customer needs
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support while nurturing a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive culture
• Coordinate requirements, designs, dependencies, and opportunities for collaboration and process improvements with other managers
• Lead by example, leveraging technical expertise to raise the bar and ensure outstanding results
• Manage multiple projects throughout the software development cycle
• Ensure delivery of dependable, supportable, scalable, and performant software
• Lead a team of senior systems developers, removing roadblocks and ensuring they have what they need

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years managing high-performing engineering teams, preferably in systems engineering
• 10+ years designing, developing, testing, and deploying software products
• Proven track record of architecting and delivering enterprise-level reliable and scalable solutions
• Demonstrable understanding of systems level concepts in Windows, Linux, and macOS
• Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
• Outside-the-box thinker who can come up with pragmatic solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Team player with high ethics and integrity
