Description
ACCEL Schools is seeking highly qualified Intervention Specialists at Northeast Ohio College Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio. As an Intervention Specialist, you will support the educational and behavioral goals of all students, with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.
Responsibilities:
- Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret students' abilities and disabilities, assist in classroom intervention strategies, modify general education curriculum, and help students with regular class assignments.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction and functional behavior assessments.
- Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
- Facilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
- Relentlessly work to meet goals related to student achievement and culture, as well as state-specific achievement goals.
- Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
- Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Serve as an advisor for a designated set of students.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding students' academic and social-emotional growth.
- Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities, such as social events and field trips.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Current state license.
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
- Experience working in a full-room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment.
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred.
