Description
We are looking for a General Manager - Strategy & Investment to work closely with the finance, business teams, and CXOs in articulating the broad business plans and targets for the company.
The successful candidate will work with relevant stakeholders in exploring opportunities pertaining to M&A and identify white spaces in focus and adjacent categories, build a "where to play, how to win" thesis, and make the build-vs-buy call , deciding whether to build a capability in-house or pursue it through investment, acquisition, or partnership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing detailed financial analysis and developing comprehensive financial models and valuation analysis in support of potential transactions
- Working with business units to assess and prioritize transactions to best align with business strategy and growth plans
- Assisting in the preparation of presentations and recommendations for senior management review and for board meetings
- Working closely with finance, legal teams, and investment banking experts to support the due-diligence process
- Investigating and evaluating mergers and acquisition opportunities
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical degree
- Chartered Accountants with prior experience in diligence processes will also be considered
- An MBA or equivalent degree is preferred but not mandatory
- 8+ years of work experience, with at least 2+ years of working in investment banking, corporate development, venture capital investing
Key skills required include:
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong background in finance/accounting
- Good writing/editing/interpersonal/organizational skills
- Communication and presentation skills to effectively deliver complex, data-driven insights to senior business leaders
- Proven experience of working with multiple stakeholders to drive projects to execution by building consensus
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Analytical with critical thinking ability
