Description
Adyen is building a top-tier data team across San Francisco and Amsterdam. The goal is to accelerate data as their most differentiating and least replicable asset across the company.
You will join as one of the technical leaders of the Data Foundations team. You will architect data and work on complex challenges across the company, multiplying your impact through the teams and people you work with.
Responsibilities
- Build greenfield: help write the mandate, architecture, and standards for the data foundations
- Design the foundation: set the target architecture for shared data models, data contracts, and the semantic layer
- Give every metric one clear meaning: work with domain teams to define core metrics
- Make data contracts the norm: agree contracts between producers and consumers
- Build lineage: ensure anyone can trace a figure to its source
- Help teams ship data products: guide domain teams to publish datasets with a clear owner, schema, and service level
- Stay hands-on: build prototypes, review designs, and solve hard problems in the data stack
- Partner across Adyen: work with various teams and stakeholders
- Grow other engineers: mentor engineers in Data Foundations and domains
Requirements
- 10+ years in data engineering or data architecture at a staff scope
- Experience setting direction for multiple teams
- Designed shared data models, data contracts, or semantic layers
- Changed what other teams built without authority, using data, prototypes, and trust
- Excellent communication skills: explaining hard ideas in plain words
- Ability to work well with various stakeholders across time zones
The annual base salary range for this role is $258–$367k, plus RSUs.
