Description
We are seeking a Nursing Manager to lead the Children's and Young Persons (CYP) Department at Spire Shawfair Park Hospital in Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the provision of exemplary planned care for patients aged from birth to 16 years. This will involve providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership to ensure the delivery of effective care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading specialist services in all clinical areas, providing specialist education and audit
- Developing a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety, security, and safeguards the welfare of children and young persons
- Improving quality and developing services
- Supporting and enabling equality, diversity, and rights
- Leading others in the development of knowledge, ideas, and work practices
- Delegating work to others and determining the effective use of physical and financial resources
- Undertaking Human Resource activities for all members of the team
- Planning, monitoring, and quality assuring the application of technology for measurement, monitoring, and treatment
Requirements:
- NMC registered Nurse with a Children's qualification
- Experience of working at clinical leadership/management level within a paediatric department
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff
- Flexibility to support the needs of the growing service covering inpatients and outpatients
- Desirable: phlebotomy and paediatric ILS, or willingness to complete a university course
- Ability to plan and prioritise care for patients with good time management skills
- Surgical background highly desirable
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Ability to manage change enthusiastically whilst assisting to lead, manage, and develop the CYP service
