Description
As a Software Engineer at Cisco, you will work with a team of seasoned engineers to test some of the world's largest Service Provider networks and Web customer networks. You will interact with top talent in the industry and have the opportunity to grow and learn from experts.
In this role, you will test products deployed by leading service providers and Web customers, work with a vibrant technical community, and mentor junior colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Test products deployed by leading service providers and Web customers
- Work with a BU-wide technical community, learning from experts and translating this learning into exciting opportunities for growth
- Mentor junior colleagues in their day-to-day activities
- Excellent knowledge and testing skills on DWDM and OTN, Txp/Mxp Areas
- Hands-on experience with traffic generators and analyzers (e.g. Spirent, IXIA, JDSU etc.)
- Excellent knowledge of test automation with Python and other automation test tools and methodologies
- Knowledge and testing skill in Optical technologies
- Good understanding of customer deployments, operations and the ability to translate brown field/green field deployments into test strategy with high efficacy
- Excellent problem-solving skills, familiarity with Linux and modern software tools and techniques for development/debugging and solid software design and development skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certification such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE/JCNA/JCIE
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented with a high degree of accountability, dedication, and responsibility
- Typically requires MS/BS in EE/CS combined with 5-6 years proven experience
