We’re recruiting for a Senior Delivery Manager to be part of our Justice Data & Science team.

This role sits within Justice Data, where multidisciplinary teams work across the data lifecycle to turn complex data into better decisions, tools and services.

The Senior Delivery Manager will lead the delivery of complex and high-profile initiatives, working across organisational boundaries to align priorities, build strong relationships, and deliver valuable, user-centred services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Senior Delivery Manager for data and digital services, leading end-to-end delivery and serving as the primary point of accountability, oversight, and escalation.
  • Lead the delivery of complex, high-profile data and digital services, using agile and lean methodologies, maintaining momentum across teams and priorities.
  • Shape and deliver the roadmap for data and digital services, ensuring services meet user needs, align with organisational priorities, and support data-driven decision making across the Ministry of Justice.
  • Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and blockers across data and digital initiatives, ensuring timely decision-making and clear escalation where required.
  • Use delivery management tools to capture requirements, plan work, coordinate teams, and enable transparent communication.
  • Use data, performance metrics, and user insights to inform delivery decisions, improve service adoption, measure impact, and continuously improve delivery practices.
  • Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish priorities, define meaningful outcomes, and enable the successful delivery of digital products and services.
  • Work closely with data engineers, developers, visualisation specialists, analysts, product managers, and domain leads to plan delivery, coordinate activity, and demonstrate the value of reporting products and platform capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance and prioritisation across services and platforms, balancing strategic objectives, operational needs, technical debt, and user requirements.
  • Build, support, and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering an inclusive environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to do their best work.
  • Coach and mentor delivery managers and team members, supporting professional development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Promote and embed agile and lean ways of working, supporting teams to adopt appropriate tools, techniques, and delivery patterns that enable effective delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-team alignment and organisational change through clear communication, stakeholder engagement, workshops, events, and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote and embed best practice in data and digital delivery, helping to establish consistent standards, governance, and ways of working across the organisation.
  • Contribute to the wider delivery management community across Technology Services and Justice Digital, strengthening delivery capability and peer networks.

Benefits:

  • A generous employer pension contribution of 28.97% through the Civil Service Pension Scheme.
  • 25 days of annual leave, (increasing to 30 days once you have reached 5 years of service), plus 8 bank holidays and a privilege day for the King’s birthday.
  • Flexible working arrangements including hybrid working, working part time or compressed hours.
  • Employees are allocated 10% of their working time for personal and professional development.
  • A £1k per person learning budget is in place to support all our people, with access to best-in-class conferences and seminars, accreditation with professional bodies, fully funded vocational programmes and e-learning platforms.
