Description
You will be a Principal Applications Engineer, Transistor-Level Signoff at Synopsys, working with customers pushing the limits of advanced nodes, multi-die integration, and custom IC design.
As a seasoned engineer, you have spent years deep in the trenches of transistor-level power integrity and EM/IR signoff, solving complex problems that can directly impact a customer's tapeout schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning technical relationships with assigned customer accounts
- Leading transistor-level power integrity and EM/IR signoff work across analog, RF, ESD, embedded memory, and high-speed interface designs
- Developing, validating, and optimizing customer signoff flows for advanced nodes and 3DIC designs
- Driving complex technical investigations from initial customer reports through root-cause analysis and resolution
- Leading technical evaluations, benchmarks, workshops, and training sessions
- Mentoring applications engineers on signoff methodology, power-integrity analysis, and customer engagement
The impact you will have includes:
- Enabling customers to successfully tape out advanced node and 3DIC designs
- Reducing customer time-to-signoff through automation, scripting, and workflow optimization
- Accelerating Totem and Totem-SC adoption across new customer accounts and design teams
- Improving product quality and capability by surfacing real customer issues, use cases, and methodology gaps
To qualify, you will need:
- A Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Typically 10 or more years in semiconductor EDA, IC design, or applications engineering
- Proven ability to independently manage technical engagements, customer expectations, and escalations
- Strong hands-on experience with transistor-level EM/IR, power-integrity, power-grid extraction, or related signoff solutions
- Solid understanding of analog and custom IC design, circuit analysis, physical layout, and semiconductor signoff methodology
- Familiarity with semiconductor design data and EDA flows
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments and at least one scripting language such as Python, Tcl, Perl, or Shell
