This role supports analytics across Finance, Operations, Product Management, Sales, and other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full model lifecycle: source ingestion, staging, testing, documentation, and deployment.
  • Set and enforce modeling standards, including naming conventions and testing practices.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance and cost through smart materialization and clustering.
  • Partner with data engineers and business systems teams to ensure upstream data quality.
  • Review pull requests, mentor analysts and engineers, and improve team quality.
  • Explain data definitions to non-technical audiences and push back on misleading metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a quantitative field.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, Snowflake, and advanced SQL.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD for data projects.

Nice to Have

  • Experience modeling data from CRM and business systems like Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt Cloud.
  • Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Background in a SaaS or education technology company.

What Success Looks Like

  • In 90 days, ship production models and build relationships with partners.
  • In 6 months, own a major domain in the data model and earn business trust.
  • In a year, shape modeling standards and improve team efficiency.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and ownership program.
  • Flexible work culture and remote work options.
  • Generous time off and comprehensive wellness programs.
