Description
We are seeking a Senior Programmer to join our Paris studio, a pioneering Ubisoft studio and one of the largest and most experienced in the industry.
As a Senior Programmer, you will have a 'Toolmaker' mindset and be responsible for designing and building a powerful and reusable framework for our next-generation games powered by generative AI.
Your goal will be to construct the 'engine behind the games': a robust foundation that manages technical complexity, allowing our game teams to focus 100% on creating innovative gameplay and fun.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and evolve a shared central framework for multiple productions to accelerate development and ensure robust, high-performance, and scalable solutions.
- Develop reusable systems, tools, and services (frameworks, modules, SDKs, workflows) that facilitate the work of production teams and standardise common features.
- Design abstractions and pipelines around generative AI technologies to simplify their integration into games and creation tools.
- Collaborate with product teams (Game Design, Gameplay, Narrative, AI...) to transform their needs into simple, efficient, and intuitive technical solutions.
- Ensure the technical quality of developed systems by working on architecture, performance, memory, multithreading, and optimisation, while ensuring reliable build and deployment processes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform, development practices, and conduct active technological monitoring to identify and promote innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Significant experience in software development, ideally in the video game industry, with the design of reusable systems or tools.
- Strong skills in software architecture, optimisation (performance, multithreading, memory), and C++ and/or C# development.
- Ability to design robust solutions that simplify the work of production teams.
- Autonomous, curious, problem-oriented, with a strong ability to take ownership of end-to-end subjects.
- Marked interest in emerging technologies, particularly generative AI, and their application to game development.
- English level allowing collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment.
