Description
IOM is seeking a Chief of Mission (P) to oversee and provide policy, administrative, programme, and financial management support to the Country Office in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The Chief of Mission will be responsible and accountable for the activities of IOM, developing and promoting IOM's Strategic Plan and Programming in the country, and managing the related budgetary, financial, and administrative functions of the Country Office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing IOM's Strategic Plan and Programming in the country
- Providing policy, administrative, programme, and financial management support to the Country Office
- Managing the Country Office's budget, finances, and administrative functions
- Representing IOM in the country and liaising with governmental authorities, diplomatic missions, and other stakeholders
- Developing partnerships and collaborations with other organizations and stakeholders
- Ensuring the safety and security of IOM personnel, facilities, and assets
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master's degree in Political or Social Science, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field
- Seven years of relevant professional experience in general management, project and resources management, diplomacy, fundraising, and public relations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience in managing a range of migration programming, both in emergency and development contexts
