Position Summary: As a Senior Leader within the Price & Value organization, you will be responsible for defining the retail strategy for how pricing, promotions, coupons, and loyalty benefits work together to drive customer growth and profitable business performance. You will bring a strong customer and commercial lens to value strategy, identifying opportunities to increase customer segment growth, category penetration, trip frequency, engagement, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Price & Value Growth:

  • Identify customer and category growth opportunities, including segment growth, category penetration, trip frequency, and profitable engagement.
  • Align stakeholders around the priorities, tradeoffs, and success measures that shape the Price & Value agenda.
  • Ensure strategic decisions are grounded in customer behavior, business performance, and competitive context.

Integrated Value Design & Business Frameworks:

  • Define the frameworks, guardrails, and decision principles that guide how Price & Value levers work together across categories.
  • Redefine the holistic discounting approach across category promotions, tailored branded coupons, front store coupons, and loyalty benefits so they operate as a coordinated system.
  • Establish how pricing, promotion, and coupon decisions work together in day-to-day business processes rather than through siloed decision-making.
  • Translate strategic analysis, testing insights, and market learnings into scalable business frameworks that inform future retail strategy.

Capability, Technology & Decision Enablement:

  • Set the roadmap for the capabilities, tools, data, analytics, and decision support needed to enable the future-state Price & Value strategy.
  • Partner with DDAT and other enterprise teams to advance technology solutions, including AI-enabled decision support, that improve the quality, speed, and consistency of business decisions.
  • Identify gaps in current tools, data access, and analytical processes and establish priorities to address them.
  • Guide business case development, prioritization, implementation planning, and adoption of critical new capabilities.

Operating Model & Transformation Leadership:

  • Shape the operating model, governance, workflows, and decision points needed to support an integrated Price & Value strategy.
  • Clarify decision rights, team interfaces, and cross-functional ways of working to reduce friction, accelerate decisions, and strengthen accountability.
  • Identify areas where processes, organizational structures, and governance create fragmentation and define how they should evolve.
  • Lead large-scale strategic change across process evolution, capability modernization, and new ways of working.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for retail Price & Value strategy and key strategic initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration across leaders responsible for customer growth strategy, innovation and testing, and capability development.
  • Partner closely with merchandising, marketing, loyalty, field leadership, store operations, analytics, enterprise insights, finance, and DDAT.
  • Influence senior leaders on tradeoffs, sequencing, investment priorities, implementation decisions, and organizational alignment.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in pricing, promotions, merchandising, loyalty, customer strategy, retail strategy, or related business leadership roles.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in complex, highly matrixed environments.
  • Demonstrated success defining strategy and translating it into operating models, decision frameworks, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Deep experience balancing customer, commercial, operational, and technology considerations across pricing and promotional decisions.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to establish frameworks and guardrails in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience advancing modern data, analytics, technology, and AI-enabled decision-support capabilities to improve business performance and decision quality.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional stakeholders with and without direct authority.
  • Experience leading large-scale strategic transformation, including process evolution, governance redesign, capability modernization, and new ways of working.
  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of building high-performing teams and developing leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep experience within a large-scale retail, consumer, pharmacy, grocery, or similarly complex customer-facing organization.
  • Experience developing or transforming enterprise-level pricing, promotion, discounting, coupon, or loyalty strategies.
  • Experience integrating pricing, promotions, coupons, and loyalty benefits into a coordinated customer value strategy.
  • Experience partnering with technology and analytics organizations to develop and implement advanced decision-support, analytics, or AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience driving transformation across highly matrixed organizations with multiple business and functional stakeholders.
