Description
As SENDCo at Concordia Academy, you will manage the provision for pupils identified as having Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND), including promoting high-quality teaching, effective use of resources, and high standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.
You will work with and alongside all members of leadership and the inclusion team to ensure effective provision for all pupils with additional needs and ensure that all children are effectively safeguarded.
Although previous SENDCo experience would be an advantage, we are looking for an individual who is willing to learn and develop, both as a SENDCo and as a senior leader.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be organised and able to work to tight deadlines;
- Know and understand what high expectations in the classroom look like, and can support in ensuring these are a daily occurrence;
- Have a passion for SEND and a strong understanding of inclusive practice;
- Can lead, support and model effective practice to other staff members;
- Have a National SENDCo Award (The school will consider supporting the right candidate to achieve this if not in place already);
- Will also support with safeguarding and has Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification (or the willingness to achieve this);
- Is dedicated to on-going professional development.
Successful candidates will be offered:
- A commitment to providing high-quality professional development;
- School and Trust support to develop and improve the right candidate;
- The opportunity to make a real difference to change the lives and future of our children;
- A vibrant and welcoming learning environment.
