At Braze, we're a customer engagement platform that helps brands deliver great customer experiences. We're seeking a Software Engineer II to join the User Targeting team, which is responsible for how customers segment and target their users.
You will build and own features in a complex, high-scale segmentation system that underpins our entire product offering. You'll work on new segmentation features, help improve performance and cost, and grow your expertise in large-scale data systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing features across our Ruby on Rails backend and React frontend
- Taking ownership of medium-sized projects and delivering them on time
- Writing and tuning queries against MongoDB and ClickHouse
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to clarify requirements and deliver features that meet customer needs
- Writing thorough automated tests, reviewing teammates' code, and participating in the on-call rotation

For candidates based in Canada, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between CA$125,280 and CA$210,600 annually with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between CA$139,200 - CA$234,000/year.
