Description
We are seeking an Engineering Lead to join our embedded finance team at Wise. As part of our mission to make the world's money movement easier and more affordable, you will be working closely with multiple functions to understand the pain points of large enterprises and help them leverage Wise's infrastructure to offer world-class embedded finance products.
This is a hands-on engineering lead role where you will support engineers in their growth, drive technical decisions, and work closely with a product manager to develop a long-term vision and roadmap for the team.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain the team's services
- Mentor and support a small team of engineers in their growth and development
- Support the team in technical decisions to ensure high-quality products
- Work closely with a Product Manager to own and drive the team's direction and product plans
- Collaborate with teams across Wise to deliver real impact
Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams
- Strong hands-on experience with Java or similar stacks
- Deep understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures
- Product mindset with a focus on customer impact
- Strong experience designing and optimizing relational databases
- Advocacy for best coding practices, continuous delivery, and code reviews
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across teams and stakeholders
Benefits:
- Starting salary: £105,000-£135,000 base + RSU's
