Description
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our Spirits Governance team, reporting directly to the Spirits Senior COMAH EHS Manager. You will be responsible for leading the health and safety agenda, providing functional leadership in occupational health and safety, and managing a team of two H&S coordinators.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the health and safety agenda and providing functional leadership in occupational health and safety
- Supporting the implementation of new programs and ensuring compliance with legislation, Diageo policies, standards, and protocols
- Developing and maintaining the health and safety management system
- Monitoring and reporting on compliance with H&S
- Managing actions arising from internal and external audits, incidents, and other health and safety-related activities
- Driving simplification within processes to deliver continuous improvement
- Implementing and embedding health and safety improvement programs linked to key priorities
- Managing and delivering an effective health and safety training program
- Acting as liaison with regulators on health and safety for incidents that occur on site
- Delivering the health and safety budget
- Supporting CAPEX submissions as either project sponsor or technical expert
- Auditing and/or verifying LTO Level 1 H&S audits and validating IA actions
Requirements and qualifications:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level Practitioner qualification in Occupational Safety & Health
- Corporate Membership of Institute Occupational Safety & Health
- Experience in health and safety leadership and a track record in a food/drink manufacturing environment or experience in a process safety environment
- Lead Audit Qualification would be advantageous
- Consistent record in managing health and safety incidents and activities
- NEBOSH qualified
- A full and clean UK Driving License
- Health and safety management experience within a process environment
