Description
As a Senior Software Test Automation Engineer at 3M, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with innovative people around the world and make an impact by designing, coding, and maintaining automated tests for server-side software components, APIs, services, and integrations.
You will develop and enhance reusable automation frameworks, test utilities, mock services, and validation tools, and apply security best practices across system design and implementation.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing, coding, and maintaining automated tests for server-side software components, APIs, services, and integrations.
- Developing and enhancing reusable automation frameworks, test utilities, mock services, and validation tools.
- Applying security best practices, including encryption and secure communications, across system design and implementation.
- Troubleshooting and optimizing software performance, reliability, and interoperability across hardware and software interfaces.
- Identifying, documenting, troubleshooting, and tracking software defects in collaboration with development teams.
- Providing technical leadership on a cross-functional team and contributing to engineering best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Seven years of software development experience, including coding automated tests for server-side or backend software systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience testing APIs, services, databases, and distributed software systems.
- Knowledge of industrial automation protocols such as CIP, OPC-UA, and MQTT.
- Experience with C/C++ and embedded applications.
- Understanding of low-latency, time-critical network communications over Wi-Fi.
- Ability to work effectively across a broad technology stack and coordinate with external development resources.
- Proficiency with AI software development tools.
