Description
Capital One is seeking an experienced software engineering leader, Senior Director, Software Engineering, to help build and grow its Technology Site in Mexico City.
The Senior Director of Software Engineering will be responsible for building and leading a team of software engineers who focus on software delivery experience tools, cloud governance, and well-managed experiences.
As a Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will:
- Lead and inspire a team of 50-70 high-quality software engineers
- Support an aggressive recruiting agenda to assess and staff a large (100+ person) high-quality software engineering organization
- Provide thought leadership and guidance to software engineers and product partners
- Encourage innovation, cutting-edge technologies, and out-of-the-box thinking
- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions
- Serve as the primary point of contact and proactively manage relationships with Capital One US Tech leaders
- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, including learning and experimenting with new technologies
- Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments
- Support continuous improvements processes and shift-left well-managed activities
The successful candidate will be a seasoned technology professional with significant engineering experience, able to exert influence at the enterprise level and lead experts.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 15 years' experience in a technical role
- At least 5 years of executive technology leadership experience
- At least 5 years of experience driving architecture and engineering excellence at enterprise scale
- At least 5 years of experience with public cloud technologies
- Fluent in Spanish and English, both spoken and written
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in STEM field
- 7+ years of experience with cloud architecture, cloud computing, data technologies, DevOps technologies, open-source integrations, and various software design architectural patterns
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with a financial services, banking, or credit card company
