Senior Portfolio Economics Specialist

The focus of this role is to help Telstra Digital Infrastructure (TDI) make better decisions about its Australian infrastructure products and assets.

You will work with Finance, Product and Commercial teams to build and maintain the models and reports that show how our products and assets are performing. You will turn data into clear, practical insights that help leaders decide where to invest, grow and improve returns.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain models that show how our products and assets perform, including revenue, costs, usage and returns.
• Turn data into clear insights, explaining the trends and patterns and recommending options for senior leaders.
• Support investment decisions by testing “what if” scenarios and helping prepare business cases.
• Produce regular reports and dashboards that are accurate, easy to follow and consistent with Finance.
• Document your work and find ways to improve and automate it, so our analysis is reliable and repeatable.

Requirements

• Experience in finance, economics, commercial analysis, strategy or data analytics.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, and experience building business cases or investment analysis is highly desirable.
• Confidence working with large sets of data and turning them into practical recommendations.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain numbers simply to technical and non-technical colleagues.
• A curious, commercial mindset and a genuine interest in solving business problems.
• A degree in commerce, economics, finance, data analytics, engineering, mathematics, statistics or equivalent experience.
