Description
As a Senior Cloud Network Architect at WSP, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, standardising, and delivering secure, scalable Azure networking solutions across Canada.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining, documenting, and governing Azure networking reference architectures, standards, guardrails, and reusable patterns.
- Providing architectural review and formal sign-off on Azure network designs.
- Architecting and maintaining global connectivity patterns and cloud connectivity services.
- Developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for cloud network provisioning.
- Integrating network provisioning into CI/CD workflows.
- Implementing automated baseline checks, compliance controls, and telemetry pipelines.
- Architecting hub-spoke and Virtual WAN architectures across Azure regions.
- Enabling secure external and internal routing patterns.
- Troubleshooting complex cloud and hybrid network issues.
- Establishing monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and security telemetry.
- Supporting incident response and change/release coordination.
- Validating resiliency, disaster recovery, and continuity plans.
- Driving continuous improvement through automation and standardisation.
- Collaborating with Security, Identity, and Platform Architecture teams.
- Mentoring engineers and contributing to roadmap development.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8–10+ years of hands-on network engineering and architecture experience.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure networking.
- Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, SD-WAN, VPN/IPSec, IPv4/IPv6.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code and automated network deployment pipelines.
- Extensive experience with DevOps automation and CI/CD best practices.
- Experience participating in architecture governance and review forums.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently and collaborate across globally distributed teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of information security practices.
Preferred skills include experience managing multi-region Azure environments, working with third-party vendor development teams, and exposure to FinOps and cost-optimisation in cloud automation.
