AWS Cloud Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced AWS cloud professional to support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Battle Network and its supporting infrastructure in Orlando, FL. As a member of the DINM team, you will help maintain the DI-N and DI-NIL architectures and services, with a strong focus on cloud operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor cloud environments, including system deployments, networking, VPC creation and management, security group maintenance, storage volume management, and backup and recovery.
• Work with customers to ensure environments are configured correctly and that access follows the principle of least privilege during stakeholder activities.
• Apply the AWS shared responsibility model, manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), and maintain compliance with applicable regulatory and DoD security standards.
• Analyze AWS services and usage to find and implement cost savings.
• Monitor system performance, support capacity forecasting, and contribute to cloud migration strategies.
• Support project-based technical work and manage support tickets, keeping cloud environments secure and available.
• Document builds, configurations, and process flows thoroughly.
• Back up DI-NIL personnel on Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for the Digital Infrastructure Network.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of prior relevant experience.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification.
• US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to upgrade to a TS/SCI clearance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AWS cloud concepts and experience applying them to DoD programs.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts.
• Working knowledge of government system security scanning (ACAS/Nessus) and remediation.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve technical issues.
• Experience participating in design reviews and providing customer-focused input.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• 4 years of DoD-based system security testing (ACAS/Nessus) and remediation.
• Experience supporting Department of the Air Force programs.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and validating Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience administering Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Experience designing and deploying networks.
• Experience designing and validating cloud and edge computing and network solutions.
• Experience in integration, test, verification, and validation.
• Knowledge of test automation and test results analysis.
• Experience working on complex, multi-domain systems.
• Experience with Agile execution, including SAFe, and with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
