Description
WWL WUPL-TV New Orleans, a CBS/MNTV TEGNA affiliate, seeks an experienced Multi-Skilled Journalist. The ideal candidate will create engaging stories, share them across all platforms, and have outstanding photography and editing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct live shots in breaking news situations
- Develop story ideas and find sources
- Identify, write, and produce stories within a specific framework
- Research facts and maintain sources
- Shoot, write, produce, and edit on-air and online content
- Use creative production techniques and social media to enhance stories
- Attend editorial meetings and offer story ideas daily
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of reporting experience preferred
- Solid news judgment, strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills
- Experience with ENPS, EDIUS, and Axis graphics preferred
- Ability to work under deadlines and handle live breaking news situations
- Proven social and digital content creation ability
- Knowledge of New Orleans a plus
