Description
We are seeking a Network Support Specialist to join our Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS) Operations Support Cell team at Hill AFB, UT. This position directly supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)-provided Global Information Grid (GIG) capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC).
Job Summary: As a Network Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' Baseband, IF, and RF communications. You will be responsible for creating and updating tickets, monitoring network events, performing IP network support, and troubleshooting SATCOM and IP network issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create and update tickets to track and resolve customer problems related to network communications
- Monitor network events and element management failures in real-time on a 24x7x365 basis
- Perform IP network support, including configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and voice equipment
- Perform IP satellite modem support, including configuration and issuance of option/boot/RSP files
- Remotely access and de-access customers into the IP/SATCOM networks
- Collaborate with DoD SATCOM Gateway facilities and deployed operators to troubleshoot and resolve SATCOM and IP network issues
- Verify equipment is operating in the baseline configuration
- Remotely provide global equipment configurations at DoD SATCOM Gateways using Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) and Gateway Access Authorization (GAA)
Basic Qualifications:
- DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+, CE, or equivalent) required at start date
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operations environment
- Moderate experience with utilisation of SAA/GAAs as a source documentation for network configuration
- Moderate understanding and experience with operation and configuration of MILSATCOM encryption devices
- Moderate understanding and experience with Satellite Communications (SATCOM) architecture and signal flow
- Currently possess an active Secret security clearance
- Ability to manage IP over SATCOM networks using iDirect/Linkway/EBEM or equivalent FM-TDMA hubs
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma and 2-4 years of experience
